IT’S A HOBBY. Renovation, that is.

It may be a strange hobby, but it’s one that Christopher and Kate share. What could be better than making safe and welcoming homes for our family, friends, and later residents to enjoy?

vertical garden installation, Osage House / Larsage Alley, ca. 2013

cpk8renovate.com tracks our current renovation of a Cedar Park / West Philadelphia PA garden twin, ca. 1907. This is not a commercial site, although we’re happy to visualize ideas for your home projects as consultants.

Together, we design and explore options before we separate into our areas of expertise—CP’s with drywall, electricity, plumbing, building; K8s with hauling, prepping, painting, assembly, staining, designing, and finding contractors when the needs arise. CP does most of the heavy lifting, although a thirty-something-year-old recently complimented K8 on her upper body strength! (OK: the thirty-something-year-old sported a truly spare physique.)

We both enjoy swinging a good sledge hammer during demo.

cpk8renovate.com will archive our former home renovations in SW Florida, Milwaukee WI, and Spruce Hill / University City PA at some point in the future. This is the first time that CP and K8 have had time to build a website while they rebuild a house, so the Archive portion of the website may take awhile.

Thus we invite you to follow along with our renovation of a garden court twin on a fabulous block in Cedar Park / West Philly—just three blocks west of our first house in Philly on Osage in Spruce Hill / University City. Please share your comments and insights: home renovation is collaborative by nature.
