May 26, Day 24 of 45 Day Countdown
Not much time to reflect upon projects these days! Last weekend had us running at full speed: Tyrone (Typex Masonry) and his crew created rough openings in the back brick wall for the new windows and doggie door for Bailey; CP installed those windows and that doggie door; K8 grouted the main bathroom tile and laid more contractor paper to keep the kitchen floors protected. This week, electrician Steve wrapped up the kitchen wiring and K8 primed the ceiling and walls in Theo’s bedroom.
It’s time to replenish the stock of ibuprofen. If only Bailey could make the run to the pharmacky.
Protect refinished floors on first, stairway, and second floor hallway with carpenter paper
Remove dust from upstairs bedrooms and bath; lay carpenter paper to reduce dust wherever possible
Install kitchen cabinets, plumbing, remaining electricity
Complete drywall — doorways, walls (kitchen, dining room, upstairs bathroom, Charlotte’s bedroom, closet/powder room), ceilings (dining room, living room)
Install bathroom — tile floor, bathroom vanity, medicine cabinets, toilet, etc.
Complete basement floor epoxy (CP’s office and laundry room)
Install doors and molding to one degree or another in all bedrooms, upstairs bathroom, laundry room, basement, stairway, and closet/powder room
Retrofit vintage hardwood door with 3/4 lite for front door
Install new window in kitchen
Build master bedroom closet
Landscape as much as possible
Do the least amount of harm to ourselves and to the twin!
Prime Ceilings and Walls (master bedroom, office, main bath, hallway, Charlotte’s bedroom, Theo’s bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen)
Paint Ceilings and Walls
Tear down kitchen ceiling
Replace kitchen ceiling: why drywall when the newly exposed beams are so gorgeous?
